Welcome to our Year 4/5 SL class page! We are a friendly and enthusiastic group who always try our best. When we work together, we can achieve wonderful things!
Miss Lane is our teacher, and we're very fortunate to have Mrs. Butler helping us too. We also learn from many fantastic teachers from different parts of the school.
Our mornings start with short morning activities or reading for pleasure. After that, we have cultural connoisseur followed by collective worship (On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays). Then comes English and maths, taught by Miss Lane, Mrs. Jones, Miss Kirby, or Mrs. Pullen. We enjoy working with friends from other classes during these lessons.
In English, we learn new writing techniques to make our writing exciting. We also practice spelling and handwriting. In maths, we're getting better at problem-solving and developing our very important fluency with numbers.
Our afternoons are full of fun and learning from subject specialists. We love exploring different subjects with expert, passionate teachers.
On every other Wednesday, Mrs. Lockhart teaches us art and DT. She's a great artist and teacher, and together we create amazing masterpieces.
Tuesday afternoons are super exciting! We have French with Madame Bastable, Life Skills with Miss Lane, and Steel Pans with Mary. Playing steel pans is really special and we are very fortunate to have this opportunity!
Friday mornings are exciting! We have choir rehearsals, outdoor education with Mrs. Parsley and Miss Kirby, or P4C with Mrs Jones. After break, we join our Gifted, Talented and Enrichment groups to develop our skills in a range of disciplines.
Friday afternoons are all about music, dance, and drama. Miss Rowden teaches us music from the Medieval period, right up to modern day. Claire teaches dance, and Carrie teaches drama. We learn so much and can't wait to show off these skills in our school productions!
We have many great opportunities to learn and grow in our new class and we're excited to see what the rest of the year brings!
