2/3 PC

Hello there!

Thank you for visiting Waltz Class’s webpage. Mr Cooper is our teacher and we would like to tell you a bit about life in Year 2 and Year 3.

We have put our heads together and come up with some adjectives to describe the class we want to be. Our number one objective is to be kind and friendly, but we are also eager to learn and improve. Therefore, we aim to work hard and develop our listening skills while also reserving time for fun! We think this will really help us provide a happy learning environment for everyone with whom we share the classroom.

Every day, we go into our maths and English groups with the other 2/3 teachers, Mrs James and Mrs Hearn.

“In English we get to read some amazing books to fill us up with new ideas.” – Meera

We know that our school is extraordinary because we get to work with many other teachers who are specialists in their subjects. Every fortnight, we receive a French lesson from Mrs Bastable, and an art lesson from Mrs Lockhart.

“Mrs Lockhart gives me the chance to do all the crafty stuff I could ever wish for!” – Arwen

In addition, we have fortnightly computing lessons with Mr Cooper. Most of these sessions take place on iPads, which also allow us to practise our times tables and spellings using dedicated apps. Every Friday morning, we complete a full gamut of performing arts, including drama with Carrie, dance with Claire and music with Mr Morley. Elsewhere, we have a dedicated PE teacher in the form of Mrs Carvill, who is often supported by a range of expert coaches.

“We are so lucky to learn about notation and get to play violins and guitars.” – Sebby

“In computing we learned to tell stories using an iPad.” Cassie

Whatever happens in our stories this year, we are sure to learn a lot about the world and ourselves along the way.
