Hello there!
Thank you for visiting Bolero Class’s webpage. Mrs James is our teacher and we would like to tell you a bit about life in Year 2 and Year 3.
We have put our heads together and come up with some adjectives to describe the class we want to be. Our number one objective is to be kind, respectful and friendly, but we are also keen to become excellent workers. Therefore, we aim to work hard and develop our listening skills while also reserving time for fun! We think this will really help us provide a positive learning environment for everyone with whom we share the classroom.
Every day, we go into our maths and English groups with the other 2/3 teachers, Mr Cooper and Mrs Hearn.
“In English, we get to write stories which is really exciting.” – Joshua
We know that our school is extraordinary because we get to work with many other teachers who are specialists in their subjects. Every fortnight, we receive a French lesson from Mrs Bastable, and an art lesson from Mrs Lockhart.
“Mrs Lockhart is extremely friendly and she teaches us lots of different skills.” - Millie
“We get to paint and draw in Art which is super fun!” – Naomi
In addition, we have fortnightly computing lessons with Mr Cooper. Most of these sessions take place on iPads, which also allow us to practise our times tables and spellings using dedicated apps. Every Friday morning, we complete a full gamut of performing arts, including drama with Carrie, dance with Claire and music with Mr Morley. Elsewhere, we have a dedicated PE teacher in the form of Mrs Carvill, who is often supported by a range of expert coaches.
“In PE, we get to do lots of different sports and Mrs Carvill makes the lessons really fun!” - Atti
Whatever happens in our time at school this year, we are sure to learn a lot about the world and ourselves along the way.
Thank you for reading!
