Hello and welcome to the class Waltz webpage!
We are Mrs Ebrey and Mrs Smithers, and we are so excited to share a little glimpse of what makes our class such a special place to learn, grow, create and have fun!
From the very beginning of the year, we have been working together to think about what kind of class we want to be. We have shared our ideas about how we can show kindness, care for one another and make everyone feel welcome in our school community.
We have also been thinking about what makes us great learners. We want to be enthusiastic, curious and independent, always ready to have a go and discover something new. We know that learning isn't always easy, but we believe in perseverance – keeping going, trying different things and not giving up when something feels tricky.
We want Class Waltz to be known as a friendly, happy and enthusiastic class – a class full of children who are excited about learning and proud of their achievements. Most importantly, we want our classroom to be a place where everyone feels valued, included and ready to shine!
Our classroom is certainly never boring! Mrs Smithers loves all things art and is never far from a paintbrush, a creative project or, of course, a pot of glitter! Mrs Ebrey loves all things music, so you might even hear her playing the piano if you walk past our classroom.
But our learning adventures don't stop in Class Waltz!
Every day, we work in maths groups, where we learn alongside other children and are taught by Miss Read and Mr Gutierrez. This gives us even more opportunities to learn, challenge ourselves and work with different friends.
One of the things that makes our school particularly special is the opportunity to learn from lots of different teachers, each with their own special talents and expertise.
Our Year 3 children will be rocking their guitars, while our Year 2 children will be learning to play the violin!
Every two weeks, we become artists in our art lessons with Mrs Lockhart, where we will be exploring different techniques and creating our very own 2D and 3D masterpieces. We can't wait to see what we create!
We also enjoy fortnightly computing lessons. Many of these sessions take place on iPads, giving us opportunities to develop our computing skills while also practising our times tables and spellings using dedicated apps.
And Thursdays are always full of creativity and fun! Every Thursday morning, we take part in performing arts tuition, including drama with Carrie, dance with Claire and music with Mr Morley.
There is certainly lots going on in Class Waltz!
We are already incredibly proud of the way our children are working together, showing kindness and embracing new challenges. We know that if we continue to work hard, persevere, encourage one another and celebrate each other's successes, we are going to have an amazing year together.
So, get ready, Class Waltz – we have a wonderful year of learning, creativity, music, laughter, friendship and adventure ahead of us!
We can't wait to see where our learning journey takes us!
Thanks for stopping by our webpage – we hope you'll visit again soon to see what we've been getting up to!
