All children are encouraged to read and share books with their family at home. Each child has a home reading record book, which comes back and forth each day, for the parents and teachers to fill in the titles and pages of books that they have read and to add comments.

In addition to daily reading, the children may be given additional tasks to do at home to support their learning. These may include English activities, Maths, investigation and research tasks. Children who have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument are encouraged to practise on a regular basis.
