Theale C of E Primary School is nationally recognised as an ‘outstanding’ school and has been granted National Teaching School status by the Government’s National College for Teaching and Leadership. Teaching schools are ‘outstanding’ schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.
To enable us to carry out this role effectively we approached other local schools to join us in a teaching school alliance. We are known as the Berkshire Teaching Alliance. This means that we are able to share and harness expertise for the benefit of pupils and staff from other local primary schools, one secondary school and one specialist SEN school.
As the lead school in the alliance our key role is to ensure;
- Even better results and learning experiences for pupils in our schools.
- More schools evaluated as good and outstanding.
- A self-improving and sustainable system where development is grown at a local level to meet local needs.
- Through collaboration we always benefit the learning of children and staff in our own schools.
